About 3500, there was a famous genious of a man named Plato. Five hundred years before the birth of Christ (500.3, if we are to believe the birth certificate that Joe Girreli has), Plato wrote a Utopian work called "The Republic". In that masterpiece work, he created an analogy that is still being used today (think Matrix, Thirtenth Floor and Dark City) called "The Cave". To any philosophers out there, this is only a summery in layman's terms.
Most of society live in a cave and stares at a wall. One the wall in front of them is shadows cast from behind them. To the people sitting there, these shadows are their entire world. Occationally, there is a person sitting staring at the wall who, for one reason or another, gets up and starts to head out of the cave. 99% of those who walk out run back screaming and never speak of it, just staring at the wall forever. That 1%, however, has the ability to leave the cave and see the truth that lies behind the shadows...he calls these "The Forms". Those who see the truth become the Philosopher Kings.
What he was trying to say is that what we see every day isn't truely what is there and that we have to look below the surface to see the truth.
Who am I? I am a guy who has gotten up from where I am sitting and walked up to the entrance of the cave to see the truth. I haven't started running back yet, but I am not yet sure of the truth. I haven't yet seen the forms. I am a searcher for the truth.
